The coast of Noord-Holland

Brocante Bed & Breakfast Catherina Hoeve in Burgerbrug is situated at 4 kilometer from the coastal town of Petten, where you can relax on the beach, have a drink or a snack (or even diner) at Beach pavilion Zee & Zo.
A visit to the Hondsbossche Zeewering is a must. This 5,5 km long dike protected the land behind it for centuries. It was build after a flood broke through the dunes in the Middle Ages and has been breached and rebuild many times in the past. The dike is still there but is now covered by newly created dunes.
Also worth a visit is Bergen, which is situated behind the dunes, 12 kilometers south of Burgerbrug. Bergen is a rustique village with lots of artists, interesting shops and excellent restaurants.
Between Bergen and the sea one of the most beautiful nature reserves of the Netherlands is situatied: the “Schoorlse Duinen” (Dunes of Schoorl). Many kilometers of hiking and cycling paths lead through unique areas. In short, much to do, much to see and much to enjoy.
