Brocante Bed & Breakfast Catherina Hoeve in Burgerbrug is situated at 4 kilometer from the coastal town Petten, where you can relax on the beach, have a drink or a snack (or even diner) at Beach pavilion Zee & Zo.
A visit to Hondsbossche Zeewering is a must. This 5,5 km long dike protected the land behind it for centuries. It was build after a flood broke through the dunes in the Middle Ages and has been breached and rebuild many times in the past. The dike is still there but is now covered by newly created dunes.
Also worth a visit is Bergen, wich sits against the dunes 12 kilometers to the south, is also worth a visit. Bergen is a rustique village with lots of artist, interesting shops and excellent restaurants.
Between Bergen and the sea one of the most beautiful nature reserves of the Netherlands is found: the “Schoorlse Duinen” (Dunes of Schoorl). Many kilometers of hiking and cycling paths lead through unique areas. In short, much to do, much to see and much to enjoy.
